Natural Remedy For Treating Scabies - Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree ImageThere’s some buzz in the medical community surrounding the standard medical treatments for scabies.

It seems that scabies mites are commonly becoming immune to these treatments.

One reason bugs may become immune is when the drugs are used improperly, as when people use a one percent solution of Permethrin when a five percent dose is needed. The mites that survive the treatment are stronger than before and can become resistant to higher doses.

Whatever the reason, scabies mites do seem to be becoming resistant to the common drugs used to treat them. That means that alternative methods are necessary to eliminate scabies.

The Power Of Tea Tree Oil

There are many natural remedies for scabies that are helpful for both treating the infestation and for reducing itching and redness. Hoever, one natural remedy stands above them all, Tea Tree Oil.

Long appreciated for its antibacterial and antiseptic properties, Tea Tree oil is also helpful for killing scabies mites. The Menzies School of Public Health in Darwin, Australia, has effectively used Tea Tree oil to treat scabies in the remote Aboriginal population, where up to half of the population has chronic scabies infestation.

Using Tea Tree oil on the skin will also soothe the itch of a scabies reaction while it kills the mites, which makes this a much better solution than the chemical treatments that prolong the itching.

Tea Tree oil is an essential oil from the plant Melaleuca alternifolia, which is a specific kind of tea tree found in Australia. Tea Tree oil is often used to treat acne, athlete’s foot, yeast infections and psoriasis.

You can find creams, ointments, soaps and lotions that contain tea tree oil, but for best results the pure essential oil should be used. It is for external use only and should be kept away from children and household animals.

To use Tea Tree oil to treat your scabies, draw a warm bath and add 10 to 20 drops of tea tree oil to the water. Soak all infected areas, being careful to avoid getting it in your eyes or mouth. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

You may also apply pure Tea Tree oil directly to the affected areas with a cotton ball. Repeat this procedure once or twice a day for two or three weeks, or until the rash and discomfort disappears.

Are You Plagued By Fear Of Scabies?

Are you becoming paranoid to even shake hands with your friends, or hold the hand of your favorite person?

Scabies is caused from mites (Sarcoptes scabei) that hide in folds of the skin or between the webbing of fingers and toes and is easily transferred from skin-to-skin contact.

The good news is there are proven and sure fired SAFE remedies that can restore your confidence and alleviate the fear of human contact.

Is you are suffering from a mite infestation this article can save your health and possibly your life. Highly toxic insecticides are still being prescribed and sold by the gallons to unsuspecting victims of scabies and other parasites. The worse thing imaginable is to rub poison unto your skin, let alone onto broken skin and open sores.

Here’s some facts on the dangers of common Scabies products:

•    Crotamiton 10% cream is only 60% effective and has frequent side effects, especially skin irritations.

•    Permethrin is a common synthetic chemical insecticide. Permethrin functions as a neurotoxin, affecting neuron membranes by prolonging sodium channel activation.

•    Phenothrin, also called sumithrin, is a synthetic pyrethroid that the EPA had Hartz Mountain Corp cancel production of in 2005. It is associated with a range of adverse effects, including tremors, salivation hair loss and death in animals.

•    Ivermectin (22,23-dihydroavermectin B1a + 22,23-dihydroavermectin B1b) is a broad-spectrum anti-parasite medication you take in pill form. Its related molecule avermectin is an insecticide most frequently used in home-use ant baits. Ivermectin kills by interfering with the nervous system and muscle function by blocking neurotransmitters.

•    Lindane also known as gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane (γ-HCH) and benzene hexachloride (BHC) is cautioned by an FDA warning for ONLY a single treatment. This is because of the risk of serious side effects and even death when Lindane is applied too early the second time. It’s the cheapest medical prescription, is a pesticide, and has a brand name of "Kwell." It is highly toxic and can cause permanent nerve damage.

•    Malathion ointment is a volatile, synthetic pesticide poison and symptoms are always more likely on broken skin. Symptoms of malathion poisoning include: Abdominal or stomach cramps; anxiety or restlessness; clumsiness or unsteadiness; confusion or mental depression; convulsions (seizures); diarrhea; difficult or labored breathing; dizziness; drowsiness; increased sweating; increased watering of mouth or eyes; loss of bowel or bladder control; muscle twitching of eyelids, face, and neck; pinpoint pupils; slow heartbeat; trembling; unusual weakness.

The truth is all these Over-The-Counter chemicals and precriptives are not only poisoning people, they are also mutating super-strains of mites and lice that are plaguing communities all around the world.

So for the sake of your health and the health of others, please choose a natural, effective and safe remedy. They work better and faster than anything you can get from a pharmacist or drug store.

Scabies is not new, Let Mother Nature deal with them!

Scabies is not a modern disease

. . . it has been around as long as mites and people have crossed paths. The ancient Romans dealt with them by applying sulfur to their bodies and bathes.

There are many proven effective means to eliminating the skin irritation as well as the recurrence of these horrible parasites.

I have a whole list of safe natural substances with insecticidal or repellent properties used for thousands of years for bathing or skin rubs and used for sterilizing laundering. These are easily found as soaps, powders, extracts, or essential oils.

Here’s a few other ancient remedies I have time to mention:

•    American pennyroyal (Hedeoma pulegioides) . . . apply a strong tea or preferably a tincture directly to the affected area to alleviate the itch.

•    Peppermint (Mentha piperita) . . . make enough tea to pour into your hot bath water.

•    Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) . . . I recommend washing with strong solution of tansy tea as a treatment for scabies or lice.

If you’re pregnant avoid these last three, but don’t worry there are many more remedies, I just can’t list them all here today. Even if you apply these herbs to your skin or add them it to bathwater as an essential oil, some of the active ingredients do penetrate the skin and get into the bloodstream.

Better to be safe than sorry later, right?

I hope this brief article has helped you along your healing pathway. If anything, I hope you will at least try a natural remedy for treating scabies before using any drugs or pesticides on the market today. Chances are good if you’ve done a little home work you will be thrilled and relieved by your natural non-toxic results.

Live well,

Martin Jacobse
Medical Investigator

Alternative Medicine: The Only Effective Treatment For Scabies!

Who Is At Risk Of Getting Scabies?

Scabies is relatively non-discriminatory. That is, if you are around someone who has scabies for a prolonged period of time, especially if you have prolonged physical contact or contact with linens, clothing or fabric furniture that they have used, it’s pretty likely you’ll get scabies, too. It doesn’t have anything to do with how clean you are.

Still, people with impaired immune systems and the elderly are more susceptible to a more severe form of scabies known as crusted or Norwegian scabies.

This type of scabies is caused by the presence of many more mites on the body than are present with standard scabies. The body’s reaction is more severe, often causing somewhat crusty or flaky sores.

What happens if scabies is left untreated?

Scabies does not go away on its own. If left untreated, the mites will continue to multiply and reproduce. This will lead to persistent irritation of the skin and, of course, will allow you to continue to pass scabies to others.

Left untreated for long periods, scabies can become a systemic infection that may even be life-threatening. Long-term scabies infection has been linked to rheumatic heart disease.

Why Conventional Treatments No Longer Work

There’s some buzz in the medical community surrounding the standard medical treatments for scabies.

Do not be taken in by prescription treatments, you will only continue to suffer!
